Fintech exec falsely testifies that NHS hero accused him of paedophilia and abusing his own children

How far would you go to win in court? Would you lie? Maybe bend the truth a little, or perhaps your recollection of events might be slightly in your favour. But how much would you bend that truth for a quarter of a million pounds?

For the CEO of Newfound Global, Peter Gillingwater not only was he prepared to bend the truth, he made himself out to be the victim of a completely fictitious attack in order try and discredit his ex brother-in-law. 

But it isn't just the deceit, dishonesty and abhorrent subject (child abuse) of the made up attack that is so shocking, although that is bad enough. It's not just the target of the attack considering his career as a psychologist, who deals with the trauma of actual sexual abuse every day. It's also the complete disregard of the real victims of sexual abuse and violence we've heard too much from in recent tragic weeks whose experiences Peter Gillingwater trivialised with the obliviousness of his lies. 

The target of Peter Gillingwater's lies was an employee of the NHS, the UK's National Health Service who have been lauded as hero's throughout the pandemic and applauded on doorsteps the length and breadth of the country. The Newfound Global CEO's accusations against him can be read here along with the High Court Judge's damning comments of his testimony. But I'd rather focus on the real victims here, not the one that Peter Gillingwater pretended to be in an unsuccessful attempt to deliberately deceive and subvert the justice system. 

The real victim here is not just the NHS employee who works as a psychologist who deals with the psychological trauma caused by all kinds of sexual abuse every day. 

The real victims are also the victims of sexual predation that we have heard so much from in recent weeks and by their accounts is endemic in our country.

The real victim here is not a wealthy straight white man who uses the crime and victims of sexual abuse and violence that Peter Gillingwater tried to hide behind to try and paint himself as the victim.

Letter to London and Partners Re mentor Peter Gillingwater

Dear London and Partners, We ask that you remove Peter Gillingwater CEO of Newfound Global as a mentor as his previous behaviour excludes him from representing London at any level. In May 2020 Mr Gillingwater submitted a witness statement to the High Court's Chancery Division which was a completely untrue and vicious attack on his ex brother in law. I have copied the offending passages below which contain allegations that were a premeditated attack to discredit an NHS psychology professional in front of the judge.
